Jeep Wrangler 4xe
next gen. Off-Road
The future is looking brighter than ever for the Jeep brand since the reveal of the all-new 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. This green SUV maintained all of the legendary capabilities that the Jeep brand is known for, except now you’re looking at it from a whole new perspective of plug-in hybrid electric vehicle technology. While you may be looking at a Jeep Wrangler with seemingly little changes to the exterior and the interior, you are getting something entirely different in regard to performance and available technology. The Wrangler is the first from the Jeep lineup to receive plug-in hybrid technology. It’s important to note that Jeep plans on expanding this technology to all models by 2025.
What does the 4xe look like?
As mentioned above, the Wrangler 4xe has received little to no changes on the exterior side, which isn’t a negative because how does that one saying go? If it isn’t broke don’t fix it? The Wrangler 4xe will still come with the option for a soft top, the Freedom Hard Top or the power top. When building your Wrangler 4xe, you’re given the option between three trim levels; Sahara, Rubicon and High Altitude. The Jeep brand decided it was ideal to give its customers the option between a Wrangler ready to ride in style or another to hit the trails at a moment’s notice. One thing is for certain, there are fantastic color choices, with 12 options to choose from – anywhere from Black to Hellayella!

From the exterior we find ourselves migrating into the inside of the Wrangler 4xe where you are able to choose between three different interiors. On the Sahara and Rubicon trim levels, you can choose between Black and Black/Dark Saddle while on the High Altitude you can choose between Global Black/Steel Gray or just Black. We know that entertainment is important, which is why you’ll be happy to know that the 4xe comes standard with an 8.4-inch touchscreen and even an LED battery level monitor. That’s enough on the interior, let’s move into the real important information on this blog, and that’s the technology and performance on the new 4xe.
Charge Up with Ease
How fast is the 4wrangler 4xe?
Straight out of the factory you’re looking at a Wrangler with instant torque and a 0-60 time of six seconds! The 2.0L turbocharged engine combined with an electric motor and a 17-kWh battery pack produce 375 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of instant torque! When driving around in the Wrangler on or off the road, you’ll start to find yourself worrying less about the next time you’ll need to fill up. The EPA estimated MPGe was set at 49 miles and an estimated total driving range of 370 miles!
Tech Features on the 4xe
The tech showcased in the Wrangler 4xe is forward-thinking. The Wrangler 4xe comes equipped with the option to switch between different driving modes for different driving styles. The Wrangler 4xe has been equipped with innovative technology that allows the SUV to utilize electric power without compromising the adventurous spirit that Jeep is known for. The Wrangler 4xe defaults to the Hybrid Mode, this mode combines the 2.0L engine with the electric motor to provide maximum horsepower and instant torque. The next mode is Electric Mode, the one that only runs on electric power allowing for almost zero tailpipe emissions and running for up to 21 miles for a commuter option. Last on the list of modes is the eSave Mode. This mode will prioritize the 2.0L engine in order to conserve battery life for a later time. One last noteworthy mention about the 4xe is that it has regenerative braking. What that means is that the battery can be charged while decelerating and braking. Beyond braking, the 4xe can be recharged in approximately 2 hours using an available Level II charger or 12 hours using the included Level I charger.
